This is my first picture of the Karmann/Porsche project since I put the body on. The body was a rusty hulk, and platform was made up from an old pan with 1302 front and back suspension. Discs on the front - 5 stud drums on the back (see my request in advice!!). The engine is a rebuilt industrial 1680cc Porsche with goodies from a 356 C (Solex P40 carbs etc) Engine goes OK now that flywheel has been re-attached after coming loose (swear I did it to 350 ft lbs?!)
Its going, and am slowly working thru the bugs, so soon maybe?

1302's have struts up front and IRS in the rear, is this what you used?

Hi Calooker,
Yup - thats abou right. I got the 1302 bits in a box so am not sure that the front discs are standard as there were several arrangements of callipers and discs. The rear end is IRS, but had the 5 stud drums. Shortly after I got this stuff I picked up a set of minilites which were 4 stud. These fitted fine on the front, but I needed to get an adapter made for the rear - which I did - but the wheels fouled the arches. SO -cut out the arches as much as possible, and raised the rear end a bit - but although just fit - still rub.
I need to fit the wheels directly onto the drums then it will be OK - SO I need 2 x 4 stud drums with an inside diameter greater than 23,2cm. My only other option would seem to be to try very low profile tyres and thats expensive! any ideas?!

IRS from the factory should be 4x130 pcd ???
In the front I think you only have the disks from a 1303 not the suspension, 1303 susp. is totally different. 1303 Mcpherson struts Vs Ghia trailing arms and beam.
