Hi guys,

Have any of you guys repaired the doorpost on a bug and have pics and advice to give me?
Its more so the bottom part were the hindge goes.I took off the door and I see that inside the post is a metal plate with tapped holes onto which the door hindge screws, screw into :) The problem is,two of the holes have lost its thread due to rust and I`d like to make up a new plate but how do I go abt doing all of this? There is rust inside there but I cant get to it.
I`ve seen kak jobs were to hindge is welded on and all covered up with putty but I dont want that.

The best way is to get the bottom piece from a donor bug cut the thing from the floor to aprox 150mm up and 200mm to the front then you can cut the complete rusted part out of your bug and trim the big piece that you cut out of the donor to size to fit your bug :D

They are mostly interchangeable
Look up Hooky's panelshop on the net for a very nice repair piece.
