My dad did this on a 79 if that will help at all, for a Ford V6 conversion. What i do remember is that it did work like a bomb. i actually think he had a second one in the engine bay with electric fan for city driving, but the one underneath was there. i'll get the details from him and let you know.

ok, here goes. Excuse the drawing, but this should illustrate just about what was done. 2 radiators were used, one underneath the floor, in the chassis, the second on the side of the engine bay (much smaller).
scan0006.jpg
The one underneath was quite a thick core, +- 100 mm. It was specially built for him, cross flow with a twist, as can be seen from the picture. The top tank was essentially split in 2. The bottom one had a scoop on it which can be seen in the side view below. From the side, you could hardly see it. (I have fond memories of sleeping on the floor above the radiator, nice and warm in the karoo at night ;)) The one in the engine bay had a fan fitted, with a normal electronic switch. This was a blank, i.e. no filler cap (also a cross flow). What my dad did was cut a hole in the wheel arch and build a scoop to direct airflow into the small radiator too. In the end, he also connected a switch on the dash to manually engage the fan when heading up mountain passes, but hardly ever used it. Pressure cap was built into a modified tank right at the tailgate for ease of use. Not the most scientific, but sure as hell did work. Let me know if you need any further info. Hope this helps!!

Hey all
Nope bugger im running a tcs120  Thanks for the info bandid , i went past the panel shop last night a saw that there is a huge space underneath for the rad i was thinkin to do something similar as your pic but with only one rad and using the standard combi expansion bottle. And also putting the oil cooler on the bottom and maybe even a intercooler, i would have to loose the centre heater channel but that would have not been used anyway so heres hoping it'l all fit and work !! The fact that you dad did this with not to much hassel is verry good news !!
I am keeping track of everything i do with pics and wil wright a leka fat story when there is more to show !!
Thanks for all the help :D

Yep gonna b running a go-tech pro and 500cc injectors with the std throttle body, yes a charge cooler is def an option if the "pipe " work to the cooler becomes to long/complicated ,(i might even leave the coolers all together)I just want a reliable "sleeper" to wake okes with there tuned velocity golfs up at the lights so dont wanna go for to much power (what am i saying....you can never have enouge  )I am concerned about the box  As soon as i get a new cable for my camera i'l download some pics :hangloose:
