Will surely do it! Camera with 2Gb card is in my bag. The trip from Port Alfred to Potch takes me through Queenstown and Fort Beaufort, some nice passes with great views! I will post soon. :D

Hey guys! Made it to Potch without any problems! Fuel consumption was 12.8Km/l. Not to shabby hey Nige! The car drives and handles like a dream! It was such a pleasure, the wind in your hair (litterally), bugs in your face, but the sound of a healthy flat four engine in your ears!

No it was great, but dont think i'll do it very soon again...... will post some pics soon

Not too shabby at all on the fuel consumption. I'm hoping that EFI and the 2.0 will yield about the same.

No issues at all?

Why don't you think you'd do it again?

Nice ride, i'm a fellow Spider owner too, so I know how shit those bugs taste when they hit you in the teeth, but I know one just can't help driving around in one without a big smile on one's face.

I had to adjust the front suspension a bit higher- dad and the wifemust now be supported! Luckily I made the suspension adjustable in ride-hight. No hassles at all! No, I lie. If you consider the bright/ dim switch sticking on Dim being a malfunction..... that did happen. The cluster I used came from a mazda 323 hatch, so I will replace the whole cluster soon, will be quick, as i used the same connector fittings as the original car.

Further no hassles at all. The lights are not brilliant, I must sa, but enough to get you home if darkness catches you! I will take a nice loooooong breather before I attempt the next project...I think I am out of patience, money and favours for the time being... Tell you what, the drive here was all worth it. It made the 5 odd years' building feel worth it!

Gauges in wood. I like - gives it a very classy look. Dumb question - cylinder head temperature gauge? Both cylinder heads, with an average reading of the two? Where is the sensor located? Your lights shouldn't be a problem, with those Golf lenses you should be able to fit a very bright halogen bulb. Might be that they are shining a bit high?
