There must be threads on fitting other engines, I may have overlooked, please advise :puterwork:

Want to fit a twincam or similar engine for street racing, rotary & elect system too expensive, has anyone done a good mod with decent output without breaking the bank? If I was overlooking a thread please advise.Advice for buying & fiting front disc brake conversion also welcome , :?:

Cheapest and easiest is to fit a 1.8 golf carb motor.

If a rotary is too expensive, then give up here.
Just go buy a Mk2 GTI thats been hammered to death and hope for the best.

Don't go watercooled. It'll cost you more to go watercooled than to build a nice twinport engine. At the end of the day you will spend money on the conversion and the car will be worth nothing. just my 2c :)

Yes.
If you are not prepared to spend some decent cash, then forget about a performance engine.
Performance isnt cheap, and if you find cheap performance, you will be in tears in a very short time.

Make up your mind how much you want to spend and then start asking questions. A vague question like yours wont give you any accurate answers.
