Urgent: HtF do I remove the engine?

Post by Merlin »

's up?

Stock-width bug engine, running twin 36 Weber ICHs...

The bug is at the gearbox shop, and they are unsure of how to remove the carbs in order to drop the engine.

I know I need two new intake gaskets when it goes back in...

How do we remove the carbs, and how do you get to the bolts? Do you need to take half the damned engine apart in the bay? :o

Thanks, N.

get a spanner and remove the nuts from the manifolds. Pull out the spark plug leads to make it easier.

Thanks Tony.

That's exactly what I said as well. At any rate, my Dad is now going past there to go check it out with them.

Time to cut that valance and make it removeable...

Thats a great idea MTM (Merlin The Mechanic) hehehe once you have the valance removed its a cinch to remove... Thats one of the few things that work really well on the DarkSide removing the engine.... I've had enough practice.....

Not on the '66 (car in question)...perhaps later on, on the '67. Front valance needs work first though.
