Alloy wheel & adaptors

I have tried to fit alloy wheels to Thumper. Adapters work well on the back. Front however.... the rim's inside diameter is too small and does not 'sit' flush on the adapt or. There is about 10mm space when the rim ID hits the brake drum. The drums are ELFA I think, not original. Now what?
I must either machine the rim or the drum. My alternative is fit disc brakes, but finances a bit tight.
I have had these rims now for 3 months and I am itching to fit them, any ideas?

The rims at the back fits well.

...off topic, but why do you have GP plates on your bug?
Have you just relocated?

You must have adapter plates with a small offset, don't touch the drums rather get the dia. on the mags opened up I have done this with a Air pencil grinder with no problem on my VX1's. You may find that the center cap on the mag will have to be left off (sometimes).

My father found the car in JHB. Chap got divorced, bought a motorcycle etc etc. Left at his ex's place for 9 months or so. She said, and I quote 'Get this *&$%$? off my lawn!'
Now its mine. Took forever to get paper work sorted.
Will get CA plates soon.

Just about....LOL! Those two don't like each other! My father lives in JHB, moved up there in 2002. Just lucky he heard of the Bug standing there, abandoned.
Thanks for the Idea Rui, will try that.
