Re: Identify this VW?
It is a colaboration between VW and Toyota to see if a DC VW is a feasable.
I was under the impression it was still in the testing phase.

Re: Identify this VW?
It's all been done before, I saw a Taro in Holland in 2000
The Taro was a rebadged Toyota HiLux that was built in Hanover to increase Toyotas sales in Europe and fill a gap in the VW Commercial Vehicle Lineup.
The joint venture failed due to both Toyota and VW not exceding expectations.
The 4X4 model was built in Japan only.

Re: Identify this VW?
The VW Parati was sold in the US as a VW Fox. 2 and 4 Door sedan and a 2 door wagon
The engin lay out was north - south like in the Audi's and not east - west like in the Golf/Jetta's
Saw one at a show with a aircooled engin in the place of the waterpumper.

Don't argue with an idiot, people watching may not be able to tell the difference
