Unfortunately there is to much that you need to make a 4speed in to a 5
The best is to get the 2.6 diff ratio and then there are a longer 4th that you get to fit in to 4th gear space for a nice low ratio 4th gear
This is what the guys do with the V6`s in thier busses as you have got there and this gear is also stronger than the std fine tooth gears in the combi box
Just remember when ever you are going up a hill in 4th at low rpm do not just put your foot down and use the V6 Torque to pull you up all the way change down to 3de and use the rpm of the motor other wise you will eat that 4th gear up in now time and you can chat to any V6 bus owner who had driven his bus wrong the gear normally breaks when you are on Holiday
What is your plans
And what was the end result in your gear selecting problems

Bugger is 110% correct.
I'm told the 2.3 box is the strongest of the lot with the longest 4th.
The 5 speed is no good for the V6 torque

Do you want 5 reverse or 4 reverse gears
The ratio is .76 if I remember correctly where the std one should be around a .85 or .82
The gear is in the region of R1.7K and then we need a conversion bearing for it aswell
PM me and we can chat
