Beetle engine service kit items

So this will be the fist service of my beetle since i've taken ownership. (no it has'nt been driven 2 long, just a few times). The P.O took fairly good care, but could have been better if he was apart of ACVW. It'll be outta the panel shop by the weekend, and i want to get a full service done,
My qestion : what are the parts, i will need to do it? I know what i need for a W/C Car, but want to be extra sure for my beetle. Can someone give me a COMPLETE list of items il need and maybe part numbers eg type of plugs, grade of oil, etc.etc.
I have a starting problem with the car (as does everybody) but im going to open up and check the starter. Anything else i may need. (Yes I know Iv got to get a Haynes manual im working on it.) its a 1974/5 single port standard beetle 12v

Points- Depending on engine size and year,it can be different part numbers.)
Plugs -Normaly it is BP6ES (NGK number)
Condenser-(Once again part number depends on year model and engine size.)
Air Filter- (If you don't have an oil bath filter)
Fan belt- (take yours as a sample)
Oil- (Many discussions on this subject have been on this forum,but I like to buy a multigrade sinthetic oil.Usually more expensive,but it lasts longer)
Sump gasket kit -(this is the gaskets that you'll need to replace once you have taken the oil out.It has the sump gasket,new seals for the oil pick-up,and new copper washer for the sump plug,if your car has one.)

And,a fuel filter.

Thanks. I take it, thats the complete list? Or is there more? The fuel filter has been changed and looks good, i just need to move it out of the engine bay now. .

Oops,I forgot about the fuel filter.Btw,while you are at it,move the fuel filter out of the engine bay.

Lol. I knew there was one more thing! Would gaydons motor spares have all that i need? I have someone that can get me a discount on parts there.

If you don't know the history or service records, change the tranny oil as well. Get new HT leads, rotor and rotor cap, they are not that expensive and worth their money. get the timing set up with a timing light, and check that your dizzy is advancing makes a hell of a diff to economy and perfomance if your dizzy is100%, get the CO re-set, again economy and permomance will be improved.

Adding to Callooker's post... If you dont know the service history of the car, change the fuel lines too. They become brittle and tear, spitting fuel over that nice and hot #3 cyl.!!! The death to many a Beetle!

As to hard-starting, you should consider installing a Relay kit as well. (also marketed as a "hard starter kit")
