all black,thats ms ms primer on the roof,still a lot of flatting before the final cotes,want to get the best finish possible

why do you paint your car in satges if i might ask? not very good idea for color and overspray to do in stages

luckly on these cars most of the part are easy removable,fenders etc,makes it easy er,I think-could be wrong

For the final cote I will start with the roof and work my way down from there,black isnt easy colour to work with

any dark color is dem dificult, so you going to flat the already black painted areas again?

for a solid colr then yes it is easy but if you going for metalic or pearl, rather paint all while it is on teh car and with once everything and make sure all pannels have the same amount of coats on

Thanks for the tip,you know how it is with these things allways run marks or something,the allready black areas will still get at least two more cotes(spray flat,spray flat and so on)

Then it sounds realy good, what block do you use for the flating in between the sprays?

Schweet ride. I was going to go black fenderz n doors and gun metal silver trunk,roof and lid. But i settled on the chev lumina purple, but with a personal twist. (1 litre pearlescent white/blue) when your done, and ready for the final coat, you rather spray everything together at the same time. What finish you going for? Pearl,gloss?? What paint you using?

2k paint.high gloss thinners.2k thinners dont give high gloss finish,very thin final cote,more thinners that paint

I work my way to a finer grade in between cotes,before the final cote 1000g should do the trick

Watch out useing, high gloss thinners on 2K.

2K thinners composition is made especially for 2K. High gloss might give you a better finish initailly but in the long run it becomes faded and often develops cracks easier. The same for Base coat thinners. Thinners is designed to dry at a specific rate so as to ensure that the paint dries at the correct rate. If the rate at which the thinners dries is incorrect the paint is streched or shrinks resulting in a poor finish. Often only visible after some time.

Sprayed our previous Microbus thrice before we realised the spray painter was usein the wrong thinners.Worse, everytime we only found out a few months after it had been sprayed.
