Thanks Tony, I was actually thinking about oil starvation as well. Drove the buggy up the ramp, switched it off, took the pics and then pushed it down again.

with the shape of the engine, you would have probably found all the oil in the 3&4 cylinder head with very little near the pickup... just something to keep in mind when doing things like that.
The engine can survive a few seconds without oil but just keep an eye on the oil pressure light when doing things like that.
Any time you dont have oil pressure, you have metal on metal contact. The oil does have additives for situations like that and white metal bearings sacrifice the white metal for instances like this, but it should be avoided.

After little more than a year and a half, I hit 10 000km on HW2's odo on Sunday during a Toy Run between George and Mossel Bay! :hangloose:

That is 10 000 troublefree kilometers, and only because IMPI has done such an awesome job on the engine. HW2 is indeed my daily driver, short distances in town with the occasional long distance trips on weekends. Hope to attend KKK 2014 again with it

Hit 15 000 km with HW2 last week near Plettenberg Bay. Don't get a lot of time to drive the buggy at the moment, as it is garaged in George, while I'm staying in Sedgefield and working in Knysna. Recent additions include the old VW roof rack my Dad bought new for our 412 in the 70's and some bigger IBW headlights. Still going strong though! :hangloose:
