's up?
Where [JHB] can I get some K&N oil for my air filters?
Is there something else recommended?
...and the procedure? Sunlight and water, a good few rinses, and air-dried prior to oiling?
Thanks, Nic

You can get K&N oil from Autostyle.
I usually just clean the filter out with petrol.

Thanks. I'll ask the guys at work in that case.

Re: Carb' filter oil
Well, I wouldnt recommend that you clean the filter with petrol. But then again, I never tried it on my K&N. At the time I bought the filter, I got the cleaning kit too. Spray the cleaner on, let it soak and rinse it out. MAIN thing is to let it AIR dry(and not like in compressor air) and then spray on the new oil until you got a even red colour throughout the filter.

Re: Carb' filter oil
Dish washing liquid and warm water is perfect, don't use solvents, the rubber in the filter don't like them much.
Several soaks will have them looking good as new, leave them overnight in the soak, will loosen 80% of the shit, in the morning it will be easy.

I got the cat by the balls.SORRY Merlin.I didn't read to well.If it's a K&N filter, wash it with water.Never dry with compressed air,let it air dry.You do get a cleaning solution from K&N as well which is the best to use.
Don't know why I thought you were talking about an oilbath filter.

Re: Carb' filter oil
Thanks guys.
My mate at work has recommended a bike shop in Randburg, so I'll swing past there sometime soon.
I'm not 100% sure if they are K&N filters - I've never actually had a close look, but I figure what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
I'll use the same stuff on my Kadrons - they have their original filters, which are staying put...for now.
Cheers, N.
