I noticed that the needle valves supplied with the rebuild kit are different from the ones that came out of the carbs.

The ones that came out were the viton tipped cross drilled ones while the new ones are all brass and with no holes around the outside. They are both 150's though.

What is your recommendation / comments?

It will work if it fits, you need to make sure that you get the correct float level once everything is together, that is the most important, it should be 5 to 6mm gap from the top of the float to the base of the top of the carb, when hanging loose, you can also tell if the level is wrong when you fit the cards an you look down the carbs after driving a little, if you see fuel dripping or running onto the butterfly the float level is wrong, in extreme cases you can even hear fuel trickling down the inside of the carb. If you get the overflowing fuel into the sump, you will soon be heading for a blown motor, the Fuel contaminates the oil & damage bearings / cylinders.
Another way to check if Fuel is getting to the oil can be done via the dip stick, extreme cases, remove the dipstick put a lighter to it if it ignites with a slow burning blue flame (like the flame on a Sambuka shooter) you have fuel in the oil, you will also be able to smell the fumes in the oil after an oil change. Keep checking your oil level if it risers without you putting oil in you know you have a problem.

I'm putting it on my otherwise stock 2056 type IV as soon as I get the manifolds IMPI is making for me.

They're going into my fastback , hence the need for special manifolds

Consumption in the real world should be better than the original carbs, more efficient etc. but I know the growl of those carbs are just too tempting to not hear, it will be foot to the floor GROWL and there goes the good fuel consumption for a ball of sh#t. Can check out what I mean on Sunday.

Hey Eben where did you get those filters, how much, did they clear the banjo after fitting? the ones I have are HUGE and had to make an adaptor plate from perspex to clear the banjos.

They are actually the Redline Webers(99217.517) for DCOE's. My brother had these left from an alfa 2000 GTV that he sold so I drilled new holes and made new gaskets.
I will just have to file a little bit of the banjo casting (with nothing to be damaged) to clear the banjo. I'm gonna try them for now but if they give problems i'll get the proper IDF/DRLA items of the same height.

I was going to grind as well but I would shit myself if I had to stuff up the banjo so decided to make the spacer / adapter about 5mm thick, I'm happy that I din't grind the banjo. My filters are about 10cm high, BIIIG

The manifolds are finished except for paint and trueing of the sealing surfaces. Looking at those filters I dont think they wil fit please email me with the height of the filter so I can check If need be I will try to make the other set I am building even lower but the issue of interference creeps closer.
