It's a type 4 motor with a fibreglass upright fan housing and beetle alternator & fan. I've taken it to 103mm pistons & made up barrels so the fan housing is a bit of a tight fit. The alternator is run on a flat, grooved type fan belt because the normal vee belt jumps off under harsh revving.

Wow. The pics are quite small but from what I can see it doesn't look like oilcooler is getting air from the fan housing. Is it a housing you made yourself or is it bought?

I compressed the images a bit TOO much....no there is no oil cooling from the fan housing. I have a top mounted Empi oil cooler with a fan controlled from the MicroTech management system. And of course a 32mm cast iron pump to get the oil up to the cooler.

If you look at the first picture you will see the headlights under the front Lexan cover, where the fuel tank would normally sit in a buggy. It is a Lollette shell without the bonnet, side covers etc. The nose was built by a ballie in Pta. I have the mould for it.

The buggy was originally built for the "lang baan" by the ballie, but he gave up on the project after the Lotus 7 guys came up with some rule banning him. When I got it it weighted 480kg with motor, box etc. I bought it off him and built a new roll cage, windscreen, fuel tank (11 liter tank in between the headlights) etc. into the shell and repainted it. I added a lot of weight with suspension / box / motor bracing. Also the motor went from 1835 T1 to 2309 T4.

The motor was designed to rev (still working on it) with a T89 / T90 combo cam for drag racing. It only gets going at about 4000 rpm.

I'll post some better pictures.

The only thing I dont like about this stunning ride is the steering wheel....

The reason for the steering wheel being so small is to make space for your knees. If you look at the seat you will see that you basically lie down in the car. The top of the windscreen is 98cm from the ground.

Initially it is tricky to keep straght, but once you get used to it, it becomes quite fun because it is so direct. (Small changes equals quick changes of direction)
