Hi guys,

On my 67 Bug , I have noticed that while driving when the car is warm, my choke seems to be activated when I stop (ro the car but once I rev the car it returns back to normal idiling ... Is this normal ?

Yesterday took my car for a run of about 20Kms and noticed that I have a miss when the engine is hot, It does not stall but you can definetly feel the miss (jerks a bit)

Are you sure its the choke? next time you see the increased revs, get out, and check the choke, making sure that it is this problem and not something else.
You can adjust your choke slightly by unscrewing the 3 bolts on the right side of the carb slightly, trning the choke until the line is inside the 3 lines on the carb and then clamp the bolts shut again. --- I am working from memorey here, have not had a stock carb for 8 years now.

If its not the choke, its probably the centrifugal weights in the dizzy. I cleaned those in a backyard mechanic way.... open the dizzy, remove the rotor and disconnect the battery. Put rags under the dizzy, pour oil thru the dizzy (say 100ml), leave everything for a hour or so, assemble and drive - repeat if needed. This can flush out any crap lying around, while lubricating things. Use the same oil as you use in the engine.

You need to be more specific as to exaclly when the car misses (Jerks), is it at pull away, under load etc. let us know.

It happens while I am driving at around 30 to 40 mph, 3rd gear ..

Sometimes the counterweight on the choke gets dirty and sticks. If that's what it is a quick squirt of Q20 will fix it, and keep your engine clean.

When last was the car serviced? It's likely a ignition/elec problem, timing and or point gap could be out, HT leads could need replacing, you will have to check the whole system over, too many variables to point our one single thing, normaly a service sorts out many gremlins.
