Never...............I had a buddy bring me a Gas BBQ from the US a while ago, cook through ceramic coals, cleaner, cheaper and tastes exactly the same as wood/ charcoal..........

Braaing 2-3 times a month gets me about a years usage out of the bottle that costs R180 to fill.

Mmmmm that is about the same as watching the Lion King on dvd, compared to camping in the Kruger Park?

My thoughts exactly. I use Blitz to get my sekelbos wood (which I buy 200 bags every 6 months) fire going. The difference in the meat taste is obvious. We braai sometimes 3 times a week.

Come to my house sometime and I'll prove you wrong.....I was a sceptic too in the beginning.

I had my inlaws WHOLE family..........come over for a braai one weekend and they were all taking the piss with regards to my gas BBQ............they shut up pretty quick when everything was done and they were eating.......

I keep a Ploog Skaar (sp) that I welded on three legs and that keeps the footsies warm on winter nights.

- Ready to braai in 10 minutes
- Cleaner
- Cooks faster
- cooks even
- ONE HELL OF A LOT CHEAPER

- no more getting shitfaced and at 10pm have the woman ask "when are we braaing?"

It's not always about the destination - you should enjoy your journey as well!

...but I'll take you up on the braai offer, I'll bring the beer :drunks:

A gas BBQ is fine if you want to do it like they do in Europe... Come over and eat.
PArt of the SA braai is standing around the fire drinking beer. That you cant do with a BBQ.

we still stand around chilling around the braai, the only nice thing is that palookahs dont' chuck in stompies and kak in the fire.

Let me know when Pine..............I'll get some killer steaks from Klerksdorp and we can talk about it.

The gas braai interferes with your drinking-time!! Way too little time to consume.....
