Ok what you do is

Use a scriber and scribe a line through each" bolt " left to right about 100mm past each side as referance

Then you measure 15mm from the centre of the std nut down on both Beams and scribe a new line this will be the level you will weld both adjusters in make sure they are set in the centre of their adjustment so you can after weld adjust up and down

Then you measure the thickness of your adjusters and make marks on both sides of the std nut as your referance

Then use a strip of Masking tape and tape it around the beam at each mark , this is not so easy as it sounds but remember if you get this right then you got the lines where to cut the beam you will see that if the masking tape is not joining at the mark the line around the beam will not be Parrallel with the other one that you must cut

Then by using a Hack saw you first mark slowly and gently the lines where you must cut the beam with out damaging the Masking tape

Or bring it to me R500 and it will be Co2 welded

lots of ppl only put 1 adjuster in, ive had 1 in for a while and haven't YET had any probs.
wot wheels u got on yr bug??? 2 adjusters lowers the bug 80mm. are u prepared for that?
ive got stock tyres and rims, and it can be a pain sometimes....coz yr turning circle is reduced big time.
and when u lock the wheel to turn(3 point turn for example), u end up dragging or pushing the front wheels-instead of them rolling.

You guys hav FORGOTTEN castor shims, they fit in on the lower beam between beam and bulk head, remember you have to realine your steering geometry ????2c

bab dont understand have read somewhere about castor shims but never understood what they actually do

When you drop the bug your caster go for a ball of from std so when you go around a corner when std your steering wheel return and the bug goes back to straight

When you drop a bug all geometrys change so the teering does not return to straight as easy you need to help it

But if you fit Caster shimms it helps to bring the steering back to straight and help with handling issues

I short your Wheel base gets shorter when you drop the bug(the trailing arms go towards the back wheels ) and with caster shimms you bring it back to std wheel base or atleast closer as std

ok so as most of you know my beetle doesnt have papers due to certain reasons ok now does know if the dody have to have papers or the pan ???? if its the pan that needs them then can look at getting a pan with papers if the body needs the then i have problems just need to know as am about to start work on the pan and dont wont to spend hours on the pan that will just cause me endless hassles at the end of the day when it comes to registering the car

try and get police clearance for your existing vin and engine no.Once you have clearance reg shouldnt be a problem

Nothing.You just go to a testing station with a police clearance service.Let them check the numbers,and if it's not stolen,they give you a clearance certificate.

Yes, it does, and it should be, but it isn't. More than a few of my friends have had their cars impounded, and if you don't come up with the solution quick enough, they crush the car, or at least, they threaten too. I wonder what legal right they have to impound the car?
