Look here. Don't know about the internals but wouldn't this give very unbalanced air distribbution because of fan rotation?

I wont run that on my engine, even if you GIVE it to me AND pay me to use it.....
That is just for the looks. That thing I dont think will cool worth the damn!

A fibreglass shell does not a fan shroud make.....
How do they propose to manage the airflow?
IMO the only place that thing can work is on a stationary, non running engine, for looks only.

Re: British attempt at Type 4 conversion shroud
You guys would be supprised with the cooling of that shroud
In Offroad racing for all the years most of the guys with big cc type 4`s 2.4 and 2.8`s were running those shrouds
Which I also could not believe with gaps as big as to put your hand inbetween the shroud and the heads
I have taken that shroud and modified it back in !994 for my first Type 4 upright conversion
I basically made a blockage in side on top basically if you look at a IMPI shroud from the outside the air gets blocked to go from the left to right and molded the bottom pieces on that you can use the std plates that takes the cooling right against the head
I had used this on my and Johns Turbo buggy Wich I drove out 2 x 20L racing fuel playing to Black rock Raceway and stop past lanseria and fill the 2 spare tanks again to get home from boosting and playing and still ran a 12.1 sec 1/4 with street tyres in 1999
I did not needed to comercialize them Coz Armand was buzzy with his development with he`s shroud
There is John Hoffs buggy and a few other bugs running around with my shrouds with out any problems
So PLease I am not saying mine is better I am just saying it Works after modifications and the Proofe is in the poeding
and Armand and I were looking at making a buget Impi but the price of his shroud is actually reasonable for the effort that he puts in there
So we canned that version for now

Bugger, I think you hit the nail on the head. **Modifiation** Like you have done. I am not going to argue with you if that shroud does or does not work. I take your word for it. But me? Personally, I would rather take one of your or Impi's shroud before I take that one on eBay.

Re: British attempt at Type 4 conversion shroud
When you compare that to the standard fan - inside, it doesn't look very good.

Re: British attempt at Type 4 conversion shroud
FAT performance uses the porsche fan version in racing all the time and for some reason they work well, I guess they work on the "stuff tons of air in there and it will cool" theory. I have one but dont know if it will go on anything
2840 turbo type4 fuel injected with a GM computer, need more tuning but runs GOOOOOOD.

Re: British attempt at Type 4 conversion shroud
I had one of those shrouds! I was holding it for an STF member half-way across the US who needed my help with temp storage as the seller wanted it gone. Can't imagine why??

Backside. Don't know when these were made but they featured very nice quality fiberglass work and sturdy construction. I feel it is much stronger than my DTM, design issues aside.

And a shot at the mysterious interior. The generator mount side is facing up.

They are what they are!

I don't know it all, just enough to be dangerous!
