I have used 2 sets in busses, so far so good. For the money it is a good compromise, I will get another set when things pick up and turbo them to see how that works.
Just my 3 c worth

Thanks for the honesty. Others are too scared to give their input on these Chinese parts

It's possible to buy only the pistons as well.

Russ, what's your experience with QSC Type4 parts?

I havent used any of thier stuff yet, I have an inquiry in to them to set me up with info and pricing
The sad fact is the Chinese can and do make some good stuff, it is all up to the specs they are given and quality control.
My engine parts guy for non vw stuff says that more parts are made in china than you will ever know about.

I've also got a set as back-up. Only thing i noticed first off was how thin the cylinder walls were.

I can take pics if anyone needs close-up shots
edit
(that's for the 96mm aa)

The QSC's I found were not even of equal lengths, had them machined down, which caused the NIKASIL coating to chip. Sealing surfaces were very bad (uneven)
