50 years ago today in the Volkswagen factory in Hannover, two Deluxe Microbus Sambas were built as part of a batch destined for South Africa. Amazingly those two buses are still around, one owned by Giz & I, and the other by Eugene SambaOwner.

They don't. The VINs are different; the buses were 291 apart on the production line. All the other numbers are the same because the buses were built on the same day with the same spec.

I'm still collecting the parts for my resto. Restoration won't start until I have all the required parts, which is actually not that much. The main sticking point is the nasty collision damage on the RHS of the bus. To repair it properly I need to find the complete right-hand side bodywork from a semaphore bus.
Anyone?
