Hey Volks
The cracked manifold heat riser on my Fleetline panelvan finally burned right through last week. It's a 1600 single port engine.
I managed to find a good manifold (although the risers were blocked) and fitted it this weekend.
But when I got it all back together I found that the manifold must have been a bus manifold that originally had a governor below the carb, so the carb sits too low without a governor. Because I have an alternator in this engine, the carb won't line up with the manifold because it fouls against the alternator.
Does anyone here have a spacer I can insert below the carb to bring it up to its correct height? Or, failing that, I need a Beetle 1600SP manifold in good condition urgently.
Can anyone help?

Why the governor? To prevent reaching the speed limit?fig wrote:when I got it all back together I found that the manifold must have been a bus manifold that originally had a governor below the carb

Yes, if you can't find anything closer than the US. I have a Beetle 1500 SP manifold that mounts a 28PICT, and it's sitting around collecting dust.failing that, I need a Beetle 1600SP manifold in good condition urgently.
Can anyone help?
Let me know!

I don't know it all, just enough to be dangerous!
