Please help with Bay Window Bed plan?
Hi guys.
I please need you help with a plan or plans for a bed to fit my Bay window panelvan. Between a rock n roll or "Z" bed, which one would be suggested and easier/cheaper/stronger to construct?
Any help in this regard would be appreciated.

Re: Please help with Bay Window Bed plan?
If the idea is having a bench that folds down into a bed,.....i cant help you,Fig can however,he has one in his rat,......but know this,he has a split,as far I know, the bay is longer by 60mms,but the width should be the same.I am no expert tho, consult Fig.
If you want a removable bed with packing space underneath,I can help, that is the setup I have in my bus.Super handy,go camping or 10 minuets later, load a couch and a bunch of friends and go for a day trip.

Re: Please help with Bay Window Bed plan?
Hi guys
I think that I might just have the problem to this rock n roll bed mechanism story...
I gave it some thought in between deciding to do some work and actually sitting down at my desk and actually starting, only to say what the heck!... the boss was gone and TGIF!!!
The idea I came up with was so simple in retrospect that I felt that I got it wrong and it would not work. After looking at some bus bed mechanisms and the principle behind it, I found that it was identical to futon sofa bed/couch mechanisms we all spent an uncomfortable night or two on, sometime in our lives...
I looked at the history of the futon and in 1982 when the western world started adapting eastern futons to western applications, the mechanism evolved from the crude to the ones we have today. The principle for both is exactly the same.
During the day to sit on, and at night, folded down flat for
and sleeping on
So if we simply use the mechanism off an old futon or buy a new or newer one from either a bed manufacturer or directly from the mechanism manufacturer, our worries are a thing of the past. To make it simpler, just throw the whole damn futon in the back of your bus....
Seriously now, building the box for the seat and the rest of the bed is the easy part, at least for me, now that I have the plan and idea in place. I have added a few mechanism illustrations that could also be employed.
Let me know what you guys think and if you find a supplier/maker of a good futon couch/bed mechanism before I do, please let me know.
