Ordering through Volkspares?

Post by Merlin »

Has anyone here got experience with ordering parts through Volkspares?

I usually handle orders myself but I only need one fairly bulky item now, and they've said they could order it for me, at a price I probably can't match if I do it myself.

I've had atrocious service from them in the past so I'm loathe to use them again for fear of the same thing...

Have they improved? Do they get the parts in a timeous manner, and as ordered?

Do their prices suddently fluctuate before collection?

Thanks, N.

I have ordered all my spares through Volkspares. Never had a bad attitude from them. In fact I have only good things to say about the owners and most of the sales staff. Speak to Sarel or Martin, very helpful chaps.

Delivery of products are subject to their suppliers. I have been waiting for more than a month for the wedgeport heads I ordered, but CB held up shipment it seems.

Costs are dependant on the ruling rand/ dollar exchange at the date of their placing an order and the final pricing is available when they have received the shipment and paid duties and taxes. Now is a good time to go have a look at their stuff because the reand was strong against the dollar. Unlike many other places they do change their pricing to favour you should the rand strengthen.

Well they quoted me approx. R900 incl. VAT, apparently, which I find quite amazing...

I'll swallow my pride and place an order later this week.

Thanks, N.

I ordered thru them once.... took them 4 months to get me a pressure plate.
When it arrived, they wanted more than double what they quoted me.... I told them to keep it.

Now that sounds like the Volkspares I know.

I have friends in the USA happy to help with shipping, and I need to ship some parts from the one already, so I'll ship via...

Cheers, Nic.

I've only had fast, friendly and efficient service from Volkspares Jet Park (and believe me, I am a REGULAR customer). They might have been through a difficult time (a long time ago), but I will come up for them any day.

Perhaps it is all a matter of attitude, indeed...
