Beetlefanatic and Fig: Thanks for the comments and info. I really have no true history of the bus before my dad bought it in '76. The previous owner told us that he bought it from a German honeymoon couple that had purchased it brand new in Germany and then driven it through Africa to Cape Town where it was sold to him. May be true, may be sales patter, but I love the story.
