Solution:

Have the wheel centres cut out and rewelded into a new position.

I've seen quite a few beetles with disc brakes and none of them had this problem of the wheels sticking out :?

What exactly is the problem with them sticking out? If you going to drop it, yeah its going to rub. So then just roll your fenders.... Any other major probs with them sticking out...if they do that is?

Umm....are you going to tell us, or is this a fishing expedition?
I take it you have a solution - are you planning on marketing it? If so why not just come out with that. If it is a good product and solution to an actual problem it will sell (assuming costs are not out of line with other options). If that is not the case then the post/poll seems a little confusing to me....

Cool, look forward to hearing more.
I doubt I'd change from drums on the VolksRodster unless I do some serious motor upgrades. I feel that drums are fine as long as you know they will fade if you ride them. Still I think there should be a number of takers for an easy solution that allows you to retain stock wheels.

I had to put a spacer between my rim and the disc so that the wheel dont touch on the inside of the front susspention. My wheel misses the vender with approx. 3mm.Image

TonyE you running aftermarket wheels so you have no need for Adaptors to take the 4x100 or 5x100 that you running back to wide 5 so yes your wheels will have no problem

Tristram from what i can see in you avatar you also running aftermarket wheels and dont need adaptors to take it back to wide 5...

So yes for those of you who run aftermarket wheels it might not be a problem to you but for those who do run wide 5 rims it does tend to be a problem......

1972 in your initial poll and post you said nothing about wide 5 adaptors. Which is why i didn't know what you were on about :?
