Each to his own, absolutely, and the best of luck, and like I said, the plan is exiting, to say the least.

I'm just not sure how you're going to get to 2.7l... I thought the max was 2.6l?

Oh, and you'll need one of those adapter plates...

sounds like a awesum project. If you go with a 5" beam are you going to cut the body for the shock towers?

Eben I would rather risk it and go shockless than have to cut and weld a fuel tank to shorten it for a 5" beam.....

Sorry for my beam is 6" not 5" so maybe havent dont the measurements yet but if the tank has a lip that runs around it you might be able to cut out of that and then just weld a seam along where you have cut but on a 6" i dont think it can be done.

Thanks for all the intrest guys, and yes all changes done to the car are reversable all the stock parts are getting stored none of it is getting used or modified.
As for the beam at this stage there are no shock towers but im planning a setup similar to what the v's are running im am not cutting the body, tank ect on that there is no compromise.
I dont have allot of info on the motor as i did not build it but spoke to the builder and he's assured me that it is a 2.7 in short all thats stock on it is the case it has Porsche cooling and running 40/44(cant remember now) idf's and a dry sump this motor used to live in a 914 before the owner changed to a 6cyl.
I'l be sure to post some pics as I progress !
My biggest fear is that my wife sells my cars for what i told her they cost !!

Hey Oval Thief

First reaction when reading this post.   :bn:
10/10, no in fact 12/10 for the components you chose :hangloose: , but 0/10 for the choice of car to modify.

I refrained from posting anything earlier, as I realize I might be a little biased  in my opinion.

However, feeling slightly more encouraged now that I have read your ideas on keeping all the stock components, and not cut anything, but it still feels wrong to do anything except wash and service that OVAL.

That said, it is after all your car, so best of luck with the process, hope she turns out the way you want, no, even better! Just remember to post plenty of pics, we might come round , and of course when all is said and done, I have heard the best way to make a convert of a doubter is to give them all a spin.

LOL @ Eben.

No man :bn: ... Not this car....

Store it, take it out for a spin sometimes and let it gather intrest.

Buy another one to do this to.

If u want to go sleeper, buy a ratlook and dump that engine inthere.

Yeah, it will be awesome, but, yeah their are other candidates for such a radical move.

Its your car, but please man, FFS.
