I have loved the vw beetle from the time I could comprehend langugae, even before I knew that a bug doesnt have, or even what a radiator is.... that makes me an enthusiast right?? even now, I wouldnt think twice to cut a hole in my dash or fender, am i still an enthusiast or am i a butcher? lol students write off whatever they can, i totalled an ST, Nobody flamed me for that, I loved the rotary bug, but also really admired James puma, the acvw scene isnt as big here, but hey IT IS HERE, be thankful, ja Dsan has a point, it sucks in durbs, something I learnt on sunday. enthusiasm is what the individual puts into it. most if not all the guys here are. be it with a scooby engine or a not touched og 1100. somebody prove me wrong, im as far away from a purist as I can explain, but I still enjoy reading the history behind our vehicles. So ja enthusiast and money and exporting, cant be in tie same argument. ANY WAY ALL IN FAVOUR 4 VADERS RISQUE OPTION OF SEATCOVERS SAY AYE. lol.

since i'm looking for what parts i want on the net i'll just reply to every reply on the debate thread while i'm at it. Bugspray, its Richards Puma  mines the silver SP. I only helped a tiny bit. but yes, u still an enthusiast in my eyes! You might cut holes and do unspeakable (not saying you do) things to your bug, but the thing is, you would rather do it to a bug than anything else.

Anyway, so i was discussing with Blitz and bugspray yesterday and we all agree that chemical engineers are the ultimate engineer

James , was that your silver SP yesterday? I stood next to it (and probably you) and didn't even know.
Good looking car and if I recall it sounded pretty good too :hangloose:

Get real Eben... This topic is as old as the site is and in 4 years what have we accomplished? Squat.. F*ck All.. aircooleds are still being exported, exporters are still screwing the public and all you and the rest are doing is talking about it over and over and over again. Like a cow chewing cud.... It's boring and monotonous... It's a waist of time and effort... If you are trying inform people then do a search and see how many pages come back with the topic of exporters... There are more than enough topics on this site dedicated to the pro's and con's of exporting how many more f*ucken times do we have to discuss it? 10x 1000x? and really how many people really give a shit any more? I use to until the topic came up over and over again...
Do I even care that AC's are being exported any more? No I dont... Do I care people are being ripped off? No I dont. Good for the exporter if he has found a niche market and is exploiting the dumb asses out there? If you are too stupid/lazy to do a search on the internet for the going prices of things you want to sell, then good on the exporters for taking advantage of your dumb ass.... Ignorance is no excuses... And there is no pill for stupidity, in fact you deserve to be bent over the barrel and f*cked up the ass by the exporter for your stupidity.... And you Eben and all your other "save our VW's from Exporters' bumb f*ck buddies are daft if you think you will change anything....There are more than enough topics regarding this subject why do we have to start another one and regurgitate all the same opinions and blablabla over again?
No-one's forcing you to be here are they?
No-one is forcing anyone to be on here.

Who is more evil then, the exporter or the importer?

I still stand by my previous statement - if laws weren't as stringent in ZA, we too would be importing. Would that make us more of an enthusiast then??
