Insurance for old VW's

I was watching TV last night and saw the add for hollard where you can insure your car according to the distance that it covers...........for my speedster and bus this is perfect anyone else do anything like this, anyone insuring through hollard? Any advice?

I may be mistaken, but I think those policies have age restrictions for the cars.

In the past I have been unable to get anything but balance of third party insurance for my buses, and only if I also have a newer car comprehensively insured by the same company.

Insurance companies suck.

It is possible to insure classic cars through SAVVA. You have to belong to a club that is part of them and have it valued.

SAVVA scheme will not insure for daily use, nor will it insure Fibre glass bodied cars,

Outsurance who I'm at at the moment are willing to ensure and it's like R153 a month, but that's only a value of R20 000. Better than nothing I suppose.

SAVVA is a joke..............deff not aimed at the guy who wants to drive his car every now and then.

I have 500k insured with SAVVA scheme, I pay less then R2000 a year for this, but there are limitations on use. When I phone outsurance and tell them I wanna insure a 1906 something or other the person on the phone laughs until they start crying.

Example, On SAVVA scheme, you can insure your "classic" and use during the week, BUT you must have a modern car as daily transport, so, you use the Plastic most days and if the weather is nice, on a Friday, you can take the classic out and be insured.-

Just spoken to them, and they will insure my Speedster, Should have it ready by Swartkops, :

Its funny that "outsurance" should laugh as they now have a policy where you can insure your 1906 "fire cracker" with them. The only snag is you have a maximum value of R50000 cover. I'm sure your "fire cracker" is worth more than that.
