I am looking for a can of molybdenum disulfide, or Mo-di as its commonly called or even MoS2 - in a paste form, similar in consistancy to copper slip.

Im gonna give Stateside Auto and Masterparts a call and see what they have
Ive got some anti scuffing paste that contains moly maybe I can use that its about 30 years old though got it from my grandfather

I remembered yesterday when I rebuilt my baja's motor in 2005 I got a bottle of that cam lube oil from Masterparts I searched in my workbench cupboard and there it was still 2 thirds fill it looks like thick oil though not the moly paste that comes with the cam normally but maybe still good to use as a assemble lube since its thick.Im still going to look around this coming weekend for the moly paste cam lube though I did find something interesting at Stateside its break in oil additive from Comp Cams specially formulated to help the cam break in without going flat but its pricey at R175 per bottle

Not much progress has happened on this engine, I started cleaning the casing, crank etc but just haven't had the time to start assembling it so all the parts are patiently waiting on my workbench I might only start assembling it when I go on leave hopefully the 18th December.

I still need a few bits like an exhaust,fan housing,cylinder head tin etc
So far I have sunk R10500 into this engine which isn't too bad I think considering it was built from scratch and everything has been redone as well as strengthening the valvetrain adding the billet cam and the carbs

Wow, thats honestly not bad, i'm looking at just under double that in parts alone. then still have to have the machining done. But i'm going for a mild 1800 for occasional robot to robot but mainly highway cruising.

The one guy at my work said he almost swallowed his smoke this morning when i came cruising past him at 145km/h

I forgot to add that included balancing the rotating assembly and lightening the flywheel
For another R6000 I could have built a 1914 motor with a counterweight crank but the finances just were not there
Not in too much of a hurry for the measurement so whenever you get a chance

Took the heads back to DaveR for flycutting to raise the CR up to 8:1 to better suit the cam, also picked up a set of pushrod tubes as well as a flywheel lock.
Saw Shaun's drag bug there, they were busy finishing up a new motor for it

For My benefit.... can I ask what is done to a CW crank. Is it stock or a modded crank? What is the counter weight in fact?

Hi I use cv joint grease as an assembly lube between the lifters and cam. I suspect that it is this stuff that is repackaged as assembly lybe for cams any way

A counterweight crank is a stock crank which has had counterweights welded to it this enables smoother running at high rpm and helps reduce case main bearing wear due to the lopsided loads on the crankshaft.
Dave Rowley does the counterweighted cranks in CT
