Talking about disrespect, criticising people's stuff for sale is disrespectful, which is what started this whole little toenadering.

No Chris.... sorry to say, the "mods" are not here to look after everyone and read over every post to keep the troops in order. People here are mostly grown up adults. If they dont have tact, its not my problem. If people want to bicker amongst themselves, thats their choice. Its even easier not to reply to a post, but people make thier choices. If I see something that I dont think should be on this site, I will remove it, but I dont go around reading every post just because I am a mod, I dont have the time for that.

If someone makes a post that someone else doesnt think should be on the site... pm me and I'll have a look. It wouldnt be the first time someone asked me to remove an untactful post....

If you are referring to my reply on that overpriced s/c - I clearly stated it was my personal opinion, not criticism. And I do not care what anyone think about it, I still feel that way. People who know me personally would agree that many things I say, should be taken with a few spoons of salt anyway. I apologise however unconditionally if I have driven (no pun intended) the blue s/c's owner to tears.

In my few years on ACVWSA, I have NEVER personally insulted any Forum member, and I firmly believe in the principle 'treat people the way you would like to be treated by them'. It is one of the basic principles of almost every one of the world's religions. If you insult my cars, or any of my threads, it's OK (sticks and stones principle), but don't get personal and insult my person, character or integrity.

I respect Eben for the confidence he has placed in me, and a few others, as Mods - and I can promise you, we are VERY tolerant, compared to any other Forum. Often a slight 'mistake' (i.e. an off-beat posting by Forum members) is 'overseen' in order to keep the Forum spirit high. But I think in future, a zero-tolerance for personal insults directed to fellow ACVWSA members will be maintained. If you want to insult a person - direct it to Malema, Mugabe, Joost or Jurie.

Mince, thanks for all the kind words, I do not deserve it. You and I have communicated several times in the past, and I really hope that you will stay a Forum member - I have seen some of your VW artwork, and it is simply out of this world. To me it doesn't matter if you are a Samba owner or an Oval admirer - we all share the same passion towards the thin gold thread that runs through this whole ACVW fraternity.

I regard you, as well as all the other Forum members, as personal friends, and without ACVWSA my life would be a lot emptier. This is a bunch of GREAT guys (and a few gals).

Chris, you and I have also come a long way. If I have pushed you too far with my 'draakstekery' with the OVERPRICED s/c - I apologise herewith. (Ooooops... I think I just gave the dragon another stab )

I understand what you are saying. I am a newbie here but no newbie on the internet.
The internet can be brutal on sensitive souls as you get many pricks amongst the roses everywhere on the net.
You seem to hand out the insults as good as you recieved in the past with this posts.
Your interest is ACVW,concentrate on that and ignore those who so readily "push your buttons".
Your post do not paint a favourable picture of yourself,sort of you guys don't play nicely therefore I won't play anymore kind of thing.
Come back, focus on your interrest/passion and don't allow others to upset you so easily.
Remember that respect should never be just handed out but rather earned for it to mean something.

I have never been so disappointed in people as I have been today.
I never speak to people the way some of you have spoken to me recently. I at least have some respect for people around me. I do not have a VW, I aspire to have one one day, and you guys give me extra drive in attaining that goal, and the knowledge I have gained from you all is priceless, but there comes a point when I can only take so much.

Not even my friends talk to me like that. the only person on here that I respect is Pine. He showed me great generosity in sending me an awesome Hot Wheel beach buggie which i still have and he gave me a whole bunch of VW videos. To you guys, that may mean nothing, but to me it means a lot. Here is a guy with common interests as mine, and he opens up his door and shares with me. I may not have much, but I am not poverty stricken, and what I do have I will gladly give to my friends if needed.

You other guys who insult me by calling me a jerk off and who tell me to shut up can get yourselves screwed. Who do you think you are. You disgust me. I never speak to people like that! (most of that is to you SambaOwner)

So, I ask the admins of this forum to remove me from here. I do not wish to deal with any of those who associate themselves with you people. The fact that you all own a VW does not mean you can belittle those who don't. I don't care if I read anything "wrong" or whatever, the simple fact is that I feel I deserve some respect from you guys, and I get nothing. Especially since I hold, wait HELD you all in high regard!

We are all humans and say things that are not acceptable or in a way that are not acceptable. And sometimes we hear it the wrong way or evaluate it the wrong way.
I guest the older guys here can handle it easier because we were brainwashed to take verbal abuse in the army.
Any club or organisation you will ever join in life will have people offending you so its part of life --- just deal with it in a positive way--

Listen here guys, this is my take on this story, not the pricing thing, but this whole "family" thing, yes, FAMILY!

I regard you and you and yes , you to, infact everyone as family, we all have a passion for our cars, friends and family! A family has its ups and downs, otherwise we would not be family, just people on a forum! I don't know everyone personaly, but I read all the posts and I can sort of see what everyone is like, the good guys, the fun guys, the serious guys, all the guys that make up the ACVWSA family, and of course our international members!

At the end of the day, we all need each other, for what ever reason, some one to talk to, get bits and bobs from, the advise from our elders, you name it!

No Pine, I was addressing MINCE, in the context of his accusations of disrespect; pointing out that he is guilty of what he accuses others of. There's far too much taking things personally here; people really should learn to be a little less sensitive.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I would never bother to take offence about anyone else's opinion about anything, and neither will I be offended at all the insults that have been directed at me since I posted my rant. Perhaps I'm stupid to expect people to treat my opinions in the same way.

And really, so I called people with a certain attitude to prices cheapskates and skinflints. Hardly an insult worthy of any resp;onse at all, never mind getting upset.

And for all the children who want to withdraw because someone hurt their feelings, please take your little manipulations and go play among each other. No one will miss you here if you want to play that game, and the only one you are punishing is you.
