Help needed - someone crashed into my beetle!

Post by nkula_nkula »

Evening folks

I'm still a newby to the site. Enjoy the builds and restored vehicle pics that have been posted on ACVWSA.

I have a '69 1500 beetle and today some incompetent driver let her car freewheel down a hill in cape town and crash into my beetle... Apart from being ticked off at this totally unnecessary accident and damage to my car, I would like to repair the body as best I can.

Are there any panelbeaters (in cape town or surrounds - please :) ) that anyone personally can recommend here who can help me in my time of need?

Pics of my car's front end

Ouch! Sorry :(

Do yourself a favour and source some good 2nd hand parts and repair it for the time being untill you can repaint it.
Damn,I'm good!

Thanks Chris!

Ya, i'm ticked off but nothing I can do about it now.

Ya, might just have to get replacement light parts... Hate having to drive it round like that.... Just don't have the time to go and hunt for old glass and light. Maybe I could replace with Brazilian "inferior quality in the meantime?

Any ideas as to where I can stark looking?

aaaaggh, that sucks.
What did the other car look like? At least no-one was injured. You should be able to source the parts relatively easily.
You don't need too much time to find them, just the internet, check gumtree and junkmail, I am sure someone will be selling what you are wanting.

Look at the bright side, at least now you have an excuse to replace that rusty bumper

Anyone help with panelsbeaters who could give me a quote to repair accident damage only?

I need it for insurance purposes as the other vehicle was in the wrong and I need an estimated "Rand value" of damage...

Thanks in advance.. :D

Try Jurgen as I know he has some lights which he's sell and he has a good panel beater, might even have a bonnet around - 021 8454397 and if you want mention Frank gave you the number.

Also could try VolksieWorld in Ottery ask for Mark or Clifford....they are the cheapest parts in Cape Town - 021 7031813
"MO" - 1965 Splitscreen bus --> http://www.aircooledvwsa.co.za/viewtopi ... =37&t=9305" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I have a bonnet or 2 or 3 you can help yourself too. :D

Just a donation for a up and coming VW nut will suffice. :D
