Yup,we've been saying that for a long time.It was bound to happen.
Here in PE,most of the Bays have diappeared from the townships and there is a guy that stays in Ireland that has,as far as I know 7 ACVW's here that is going to Ireland including 3 KG's,2 Bays,1 Beetle and a Split DC that is on it's way down from Bloem.

Damn,I'm good!

Re: Whats going on here???
That list has been on VW Relics site for years; just the date has changed. Floris used to supply them, then it seemed they lost their local source. Obviously he or someone else is supplying them again.
And the poms have been on to bays for years now. Just look at the prices they are paying for early bays; almost as much as splits.
And the pillaging will continue until we start to value our buses properly.

Maybe all against this could club together, buy these parts and stop them from being exported.Tony Z wrote:well, there goes most of our spares....

Re: Whats going on here???
Everybody's still looking for the R5k Split! In the mean time, the Poms/Pohms/Pome have harvested all the good Early Bays. By the time you realize you'll never ride through Paris in a sports car....oh shit, wrong song....by the time you realize you're not gonna get the Split and opt for the Bay, IT'S TOO LATE! They're all gone! Invest your money wisely..buy an expensive Aircoolled VW now!
You can never have enough Garages

Re: Whats going on here???
Yup and again just like when the lions toured SA the scouts for busses are heading in with the world cup,
By the looks of it on ssvc a few busses from SA made their way to UK in Nov/Dec 09
After buying the panel, the fleetline was left untouched till this day,,, all the attention went to my new "real" splitscreen not a brazilian "fake"
I considered selling the fleetline and to the UK market for some ££££££ as I am in the country, and I know I wont get the RRRRR for it in SA,
I got real interest from one guy offering £7000 alot when you consider I payed R6000 for it(and that was 6/7 years ago),, and a deal was almost made, but then luckily looking back now ,the shipping did not work out for the guy and he had to pull out,
Spoke to my parents over the weekend, they need space in their garage, so they are re-opening the old single garage, the fleetline is going to be pushed inside , locked up and left, pretty sad as I know people on this site would love a split and are looking for one and would give it a lot of TLC, the bus just needs a respray, but is stil clean as can be, top to bottom and underneath, -> not for sale if that sounded like a sales pitch
mmmmm empty space in garage.... think I like Ghia's
