Bos Tjor Returns
Bos Tjor Returns
My previous post seems to have vanished so I am reposting this. As previously stated, I am posting this on behalf of my brother. We are busy building a beach buggy which originally started out as a sand-rail project. We only decided to build a beach buggy after learning that the donor vehicle had papers. As previously stated as well, we have no car building / fixing experience AT ALL. Unfortunately I couldn't find any "before" photographs, but I'm taking pics as our project progresses, and will be posting them here.

Well yes...
It is back again, apparently some thing to do with different permissions
I will transfer some of the pics and comments to this link and carry on here....

Re: Bos Tjor Returns
It has 31 inches at the back (would love to fit 33's but the buget is a bit low) and 30 inch at the front. We are concidering putting smaller ones at the front, as the current travel between the tyre and the frame is only 50mm.Riceburner wrote:Excellent, what size tyres are on ?
Re: Bos Tjor Returns
The frame around the shell is 50x1.6 tubing to keep the weight down. We had it at a fitment centre, to try and get the frame bent to fit the shell, but that didn't workZeroAxe wrote:This is the first time that I see such a tube frame AROUND the Buggy!? It looks goodWhat are the details about it?

Re: Bos Tjor Returns
The engine is still the way we bought it with the buggy. We will fiddle with it when all else is finisheddubster wrote:this buggy looks very good...very good for someones first project like this....love it!you gonna change the mufflers?only thing that looks odd on the buggy....like how you did the pan....

UPDATED PHOTOS: Bos Tjor Returns
Here are a couple of pics I took today. As you can see, a bit more progress has been made, and the buggy now has a bit more character. We did however encounter a few setbacks, such as the dog getting hold of the electric system after it was finished - for the second time.
We are in Pretoria and we are looking for someone to help us with the electrics, and the final "fine-tuning" of the engine. Does anyone know of someone reliable yet affordable around that we can contact?

Looking good!
Give Dirk a call at 082 964 1662 - his VW Shop is called FIM Dienste and it is in Skinner St. Other members on this Forum will confirm that he is a wizard with VW electrics, and his prices are exremely reasonable.

Love the taxi-proof ring. Looks good and the rear trumpets complete its look as a beach buggy.
