My 1958 beetle

Post by calooker »

This one has been around for a few years but only recently decided to finish it off, its 95% there with a couple of things to sort out. (BTW found a loophole in the system here at work, and has allowed me to upload some images)

I will add pics as I can.

It's not up for sale as yet a few small things to resolve first.
I have another project up my sleeve and will need the $$$ from this one to fund the next one. And it will be even better than this one.
My 6 year old has taken a liking to it, and is extremely sad now that I told her that I will sell it soon.
She just loves going for a spin in it, every time she hears it start up she drops everything and comes running wanting to come with. :D

I have lined up a alternator if the other genny I have gives me grief. :flogging: the engine compartment is going to look a little different.
BTW this is the cleanest engine bay I have done to date, under the fire wall kit the paint matches the rest of the bodywork. :D

SHWEET rear end :TIC:

:D The "beige" is an original factory colour AKA Sahara beige, and it's the colour it had when it rolled off the production line in August 1958.

BTW thanks to all those who voted for it at the KKK  BEST OF SHOW, :-D I was very chuffed as there were some nice rides there. The fruits of my labour is much appreciated by others too, and it's good to know. :10:

@ John:
 , but stop stirring. Everything has just returned to normal again. :D

Rui, like I told you the 1st time I saw it, I'm not really into the old classic look, but there are some, if they are done right, I wouldn't mind owning. Yours is at the top of that list. Beautiful, is all I can say. :10: RESPECT!

Hey Rui, from an old school lover, your 58 is SUPER!! I love the colour and 2 tone, the Batwing and detailed dash, white walls.... oh dammit,,, every single thing.... Love the details like the Alberts, the Bonnet script badge...(definitely adding mine now... how did you prevent rust after drilling the holes in the bonnet)

LOVE:....

the Stainless steel dual post antenna and beadings and stainless eyelids, even Blitzie finks they are gay! Love the thresh hold, door corner and pillar chrome pieces, 1958 flaps, the venetian blinds...

DAMN! I should check if you did not break into my garage to see if you took back all the bits I bought off you....

Love it all!!

Pity you are selling it!

Will PM you about something something now...

Thanks for the words Muds. :hangloose:
As you know all these little extras cost plenty $$$ and just add that little touch here and there and are well worth it in the long run. :D
