Damn Truck Tyre ReThreads!!!

Post by bugspray »

 Damnit!!
So yesterday on the way down to a rather hott and balmy durban, from a cool and pleasent GP, avoiding workmen and potholes and workmen in potholes, the occasional rain storm and becarfull-coz-im-a-bmw-andmyindicatorsDO NOT WORK drivers. My chick and myself are nearly home incident free in her polo...(1.4i sips petrol awesomenesstest) coming down howick doing a paltry 100 and plenty tailing an audi.

Then *POP* and rubber flying infronta us and the audi swerves and barely misses the solid concrete reating wall a corsa on the left gets direct hit of a piece of F@?!/& retreaded tyre debris, I can't slow down in time without risking a tail end with a rather bulky Navara, and side sweeping a tazz!! So slow down as much as possible and Bang Hit the huge ass piece of tyre tread!

Swear like a soccer mom at rugby practice and ask the seat cover if she's ok, slow down pull over on the yellow line (luckily taxi free) and asses Damage!! GRRRR front bumper cracked and dust cover underneath car completely obliterated!!!

The whole cover broken in. Every possible joint, front mud flaps both rubbing against tyres and floor!! What to do? "Babe I'm gonna have to take it off" get to the boot to get a screwdriver, unpack basically the entire boot and speaker box to get a wrong sized screwdriver! F@(k?!!
Eventually pull and pry every broken protruding piece while huge ass trucks probably with the same damn retread tyres mere cm's away from my legsam swearing and cursing the pebbles digging into my back and elbows!! Get everything off and safe to drive home.

Still the occasional rubbing of plastic! But get home non the less.

Say it could have been worse luckily it wasn't.

Now begins the search for a new dust cover and flaps for the underside of the car!

Thabks for reading my long worded rant, that's 5mins of your life you won't get back. ;)

Can I sue Juliarse Malema or Somebody for repairs to my car? Think not.
Rant off.

If you have the name of the trucking company then give then a call with the bill. If they don't then post the number

Had a tipper trucks cargo smash my windscreen once - got the number - phoned - they paid - problem solved !
Camping is cheaper than therapy.

"Wanna sell it" "Yeah, but there's a national shortage on 'for sale' signs."
