I think the best is not to actually go to the settlement but to collect at a nuetral venue and then take it across at a later stage. Suggest handing the food to the people running the feeding scheme there apposed to causing pandemonium and just handing out food.
It is exactly those people that were inf the Catre Blanche ecpose as the crowd that controls the food distribution and then sell it on to the hungry people and keeping all the good stuff to themselves.
John - do you have any ideas on who can assist the distribution? Think we do the run anyway see what we have and then make a plan (non perishables)
The way some of the runs an events have been going lately we'll probably only have one of two AC's there so we looking for solutions to a major problem we dont have yet - this is one time you'll hear me say lets get to the hurdle first and then deal with it then !

So I would also like to ask if animal food,deworming pills,chew toys etc be included??
I understand that people are higher up on the heirachy, but animals are not responsible for being brought into the deal..but are, so they also require help, not so??
This is my outlook on animals regardless of their owners, rich or poverty stricken, I hold most animals in better regard than some people.

Ok, you guys are ready to make a run to the poor Whites then, I was going to send some money over for one of you to go and buy food, but it seems like you all are a little fast for me. I take it you have a wholesaler for food there, buy bulk food type of place. So if you want to give it a week or 2 then I will mail you a little money for the cause.
To keep the mafia out of it, why don't you get more cars together and invite the news media along. Then when you hand the stuff out you can make sure that the mafia stay off camera, and if they do try something you call them by their type, "mafia" on camera. These type of people does not want to be known and would rather back off than be made public. Just my 2 cents.
I was invited to an South African get together this weekend, I was going to raise the issue there as well and see if I can get support. Might be a long shot but what the hell lets try. The GF did stop by the salvation Army outlet and they have shirts for 0.50c and pants for a buck. So I will see how my finances look and might purchase a few of those pieces and ship them over to be handed out too.

I agree with the week or two, I have sent the message to the whole company I work for,Murray & Roberts. I have had many responses, and people will be be bringing me old clothes/blankets and some food hampers, within the next week or so. so if we could postpone, it would really be good. I will be more than willing to collect money from members and will supply invoices for the food and blankets bought.
if I can find a set of tail lights for the DC, I will be able to fill the back with food and clothes,for those that want to donate and cannot make it or those who don't have space. anyone know where I can get?
