That was 2001 when he rolled his sons Ghia right behind me and Keith we were in the Black new beetle towing the silver chop top bug to Uitenhage small world we probably chatted then already

Dont worry Pierre, you are still a chop

I was at that show too believe it or not, I came up with some of the CPT Volksie guys
Hi Tony , the other guy who came from CT was Vincent Cockcroft with a white GTI , he now stays in PE and is in the same club as i , he had the silwer Ghia resently.

I know RAD Beetles very well, took my red 1971 1600 twinport there for rewiring, engine recon and minor repairs,
paid R8500.00 for what i perceived as a good job, only a week later things started falling apart, smoking engine,
fuel emissions getting into the passenger area, car failed roadworthy test because of the brakes they claim to have adjusted, electrical faults, i can go on for days...
bottom line is i ended up having to redo everything from scratch again with my new mechanic, i wish i knew him sooner!
I would just like to warn anyone not to even think about taking their car there!!!

I have also done bussiness with Ashley in the past and if you get past the exterior you find a decent guy.

Hi Dyllz,
What area is your new mechanic in?
Care to recommend him by giving his details?

I recently bought a beetle, so I'm still looking for someone to take it to!

Thanks.

The cosmetics were for free! :D
Can't give a price, that would depend on what you want done! :?
Best bet would be to to go and get a quote for your situation.
I was not sure of how reliable my Beetle was so they checked all the mechanical bits out from front to back and gave me a "to do" list.
Had both the heads replaced and a major service, the oil in the motor looked like jam!
I guess you get what you pay for, I feel safe driving her and have total confidence that I can take her anywhere and get home safely! :D
Could have got a cheaper fix but then again that's probably why there was a hole in the one head that was plugged with an insert! :( ( before I bought her)
So my advice would be before you look at price have a look at the workmanship and look if the person working on your beloved Beetle treats her the way you treat her yourself!
There are plenty of hack and slash garages out there, find one that takes pride in their work, odds are it will not be the cheapest option! :hangloose:
