Guess who's aching to get back home and start working on his ACVW !
I'll come help fit the seatbelts now that I am a pro
Here's hoping you have some time to knock alot off that list in march.
Yellow porsche dials all the way. Will keep an eye out for a speedo for you!
Love the steering wheel, will go perfectly with the look and feel of this car.
Keep the pics coming

That is if they don't change their minds on number 99.
Don't worry KK, I have your phone no!
As for the yellow gauges, I also like them and I have a lead on the yellow speedo, but it's R1.5k!
The second problem I have is to fit them without it looking bad and without damaging the dash.
Because you asked so nice, here's another pic of the bug in case you have forgotten what it looks like.

Re: Beetlefanatic`s Cabrio
I was under the impression we were going with "Yellomoto", but it sounds as if the 2 seatcovers have got other ideas. So maybe they should answer that.

Re: Beetlefanatic`s Cabrio
I cannot believe that it has been 2 years since I last did some serious work on this car. Between work and all the other daily drivers that break down, it's been tough to get time to spend on the newer projects. Anyway excuses aside, I'm a bit miffed that most of the pics have disappeared from the thread. I'll try to repost some of them in time.
I have been collecting a few more spares in the last year or two, so I haven't been totally useless.
I had the adaptor machined out of ally for the Golf 2 master cylinder that will be driving the four disc brakes. Cost a pretty penny, but it looks very nice. Almost like one bought from a shop.
I have started replacing the weird nipple shaped lenses on the Porsche gauges with anti-glare type flat glass. I think it looks much better. This is a painful process as the glass place cut the glass a millimeter too big and now I have to tackle each one with water sand paper to make the diameter smaller. This takes time believe me! I have the multi function Fuel/Temp/Warning lights cluster as well. Then I managed to get a small oil pressure gauge and clock, also in black in yellow. Now I just need to have one of my orange and black voltmeters colour coded to match the others. I think they are going to look the
when they are mounted in the new dash.
Another snag that came up, was fitting the Porsche gauges. The speedo and tacho are the same size and bigger than the normal 80mm VDO gauges, but smaller than the beetle speedo. This presented me with the problem of fitting the odd sized gauges without it looking weird or "patched". After thinking long and hard about it, I decided to cover the whole dash with a new one made of carbon fibre. I placed the order in July and after a looooong wait I eventually received it last week. I must say, it looks stunning!
I can't wait to get it fitted and the gauges installed.
I am busy re-arranging the garage but after that I'll start again on the bug. Would love to drive it with the top down before summer is gone.

Re: Beetlefanatic`s Cabrio
Not too much left, but the big one is the motor. Still need to buy a few thousand rands worth of engine spares before that can happen.
