They will work.

When I bought my Fleetline it had one of those Bay' middle benches in it.

I can't comment on the rear bench.

My mint Bay' bench is currently a couch.

Yes, they will fit. Some of them are a bit wider so the mountings don't line up. Middle and rear seats from a bay will fit in a split.

Not likely...you'll need to do some serious searching.

They're the first things taken off of any bus.

If you just want to get up and running, you can pick up EMPI aftermarket jobs for between 300 and 400 without the sealed beam...like on my bug, and my mate's '60 Standard.

The EMPI lights are modeled on the USA-style headlights.

They have seperate sealed beams that slot into the headlight housing, unlike ZA ones.

You can still buy headlights to fit a split bus from a Mercedes-Benz trucks parts counter, as the MB 1113 uses the same headlights.

Pricey, but brand new.

If you want them to be correct for your bus, then find a set of early bus headlight lenses and just replace the lenses on the new headlights.

I've actually seen a number of early Beetles with the 'wrong' Bus lenses i.e. the lines on the lens running horisontally. I'm sure any old Beetle owner will gladly swop you his Bus lenses for the correct (common?) Beetle lenses...

I've seen more Beetle lenses on buses than vice versa.

Early (pre-61?) lenses are interchangeable left and right. Later German lenses are specific for left and right, like the Brazilian ones, but are a different pattern to the Braz lenses.

BTW, the Merc truck lenses are aligned correctly for buses, not Beetles.
