Baron - regarding using a rotary in a DKW -this seems to be a perfect match. Generally there is not much space under a DKW's bonnet for any other engine apart from the short 3-cyl. - so the rotary would probably fit nicely. Never seen it done though. It is also part of the Auto Union family so should compliment nicely.

Standard a DKW only revs up to aroud 4500 (although it sounds like 50 000) - so the extra revs from a rotary should get it moving nicely.

If adding a rotary in a DKW F-102, you are almost back to a NSU R080 - same era, family tree.... Would be a difficult one in SA as I have the only F102 on road !
A more common conversion in Europe, mainly on the DKW Munga (Jeep) was the Ford V4.
