When Wolfsburgh meets Ota-Poegie my '74

Post by dubster »

hi guys

this is chucky my '74 1300tp (PO says PPO siad that its a 1500,its not at all slugish so might be???). I have had chucky for 2 weeks now, bought him in benoni for 5k spent R500 on a set of bougi cords and new master cylinder and fixed the brakes right then and there and put on a spare front bumper i had at home(PO even helped me bleed the brakes....) and she purred like a new car...PO wasnt impressed with himself, o well his loss...got in to go fill her up and drive home to durban, and stood without petrol just down the road. got some petrol and away i was and,well.......scared as :bn: ...didnt know the car and now going to travel 600 odd k's with it...needles to say she never gave any problems, ive forgotten what good CARS they are its been 4 years since i drove a proper beetle...got her home and started to give him some TLC for these past 2 weeks and this is the result for only a mere R900 (550 for paint and stuff and 400 for new angel eye lights) later and some elbowgrease....its notperfect by a long shot ,will have it resprayed oneday by pros but for 6 odd k beetle it looks decent enough... :)

so this is how chucky looked when we met (follwed by after pics) disformed and angry just like chucky the demon doll...

Looks good! :hangloose:

I believe it was only the '74 Beetle that had those large indicators on the front fenders?

dry sanded...i pulled the nose straight and panelbeated the panels. so it was 5k for the bug,500 for spares,400 for new lights and 500for paint and supplies...but its not perfect i need to get a new bonnet and front clip eventaully...but hey even if i spend another 10k on it its still a bargain....
