I can make a deal here. May i have the last one. I'll fetch both from Florida and give the one to the Dubster at Ferdi's. I lost my one hubcap as well.

@dubster

I saw it and it looks good considering its the same panels that you corrected like that.

I still think you did a good job with the budget you had

Ja the idea was never to rebuild it just to get it looking better,im just mad because i ran out of time and fell somethings could have been done beter with a bit more time but hey its doing what i bought it for i got in it and drove it to pta from durbs with no worries,try find a bug that wil do that for 5k,but i feel it deserves a good fix up eventually for being such a good car,and it wil come so just watch this space...

Rockstar status achieved!

Tell me how was the drive up from durbz? How long did it take? how many stops needed both fuel and car rest?
How much of petrol did you need (yip i know yours is a 1300) are the normal petrolstations along the way enough?
any struggle points along the way eg climbing Van Reenens

Over Heating issues? And did you manage the drive in a beetle?
In all probability i or a lucky friend or family member or a trio of both will be driving my bug up to pta in alil while, so i want to get an idea of what to expect.
Shott,
Ps we must get together sometime during the month, maybe go to the square or so.

No overheating at 80 to 120 km/h,my motor leaks oil at the alternator pedastal so it uses about a pint in 300 odd km...used two tanks to pta..so about 600 rand i drive newcastle,volksrust,standerton heidelburg road to miss tolls but sacrifice alot of time i filled up in toti and again in newcastle.the drive in a bug is always fun for me?(isnt that why we love them??) but when you get tired of the aircooled thumping a radio with good reception or alot of music does help...all in all the drove nicely,aslong as you let it drive the way it wants to dont kill the motor uphills it wont get you nowhere just go with the flow...it will reward you for your patience on the downhill...id say instruct the people bringing your car up to rather make a day of it than trying to get there in 4hours as it wont happen...

awesomesauce!! Yeah good advice man, cool the newcastle way is the better option huh? Coool. Thats not bad that more or less what it costs a newer car to come up. Luckily i dont have major oils issues, the overheating is the biggest worry but yeah make it a whole day adventure and im sure it will be just fine.
