What a day what !!! a find.

Post by VW-rules »

So its 15:30 on Friday afternoon and the phone rings. Server down in Queenstown :bn:

Shoot up there early this morning miffed about my weekend being ruined.

The store owner spots the split bus on my T shirt and starts telling me all about the '75 DC bay he's busy restoring. Been in his family since new.

We get chatting and he reveals some interesting info.

1st. a '63 bug a mate is selling with licence and roadworthy for R25000.00. I had to go look. Took these pictures.

2 nd. The mate has a mate with a shed full of spares he may want to part with. Had to go look at that too.

turns out there are enough bits to rebuild 3 beach buggies one early bay bus and a KG. Unfortunately the owners not there so I couldn't get a price. I'll post pictures and more details once I have them.

3 rd. The mates mate has another mate with a '58 or '59 split bus for sale. In for a penny in for a pound, had to go and look at that too.

This is when the story turns :bn: again. The bus was sold a couple of months ago, driven away with 'iffy' brakes but other than that all working, I confirmed about the semaphores to establish that the vintage was correct. Sold for the mighty sum of R500.00 (five hundred rand only) :bn: :bn: :bn: :bn: :bn: :bn:
