As most of us know, finding a Type 3 Notch rear window is close to impossible.
I've been corresponding with someone here in Pretoria, who makes windows for coachbuilders who build hearses and buses, which obviously use custom-made glass.
He can have most any window made up, obviously once a sample has been produced and a mould created.
It would take around a month for the mould to be made, thereafter it's around a week for initial production.
A rear window would cost around R1800-00 -R2000-00 and the initial run would have to be around 10 pieces.
After that, any quantity (even if it's only one) can be made up at a much lower price.
If there is any interest, please email me directly and we can take it from there.
Obviously this can only go ahead if there's a sufficient, genuine demand.

I'd be interested in 2.
The only substitute for cubic inches are more cubic inches.

Blitz, contact Paul Medhurst of T3D in the UK, they might be interested. They have a supplier (Pilkington Glass) but your man might come in cheaper. The only turd in the drinking well might be the British Standards. It's worth investigating.

I'd be in for 2 as well. But they are going to have to guarantee the fit.
No use having it made and it doesn't fit.

Re: Feeler: Notchback rear 'screens
Thanks Ron, will ask him if they would be interested
The fit will be 100% correct as it'll be moulded off an original vw rear screen, so no worries there

I'll take one. Also been looking into this but my contact for a suitable windshield seems to have left this planet
