I am fitting a second hand 1300 engine this afternoon just to keep me going while I build the kind of engine I want. The owner sold it to me for less than 800 bucks "because the compression was bad. Upon removing the spark plugs I discovered it was running only on 3 cyclinders and the manifolds were loose. I put in a new plug and started it on the floor and it came alive. In the process I was lucky to be given, "free of charge", a complete 2.1 waterboxer motor "that turns" (I have a bad experioence with an engine that does not turn. Lesson well learnt). I am considering converting it to an aircooled motor. I have been e-mailing Jennings Beetles in the USA and they sell a blueprint for how to do the conversion. The challenge would be finding an engineering firm that is willing to manufacture the needed parts to make the conversion. Any suggestions airheads? :hangloose:

Seeing that you want to convert the motor to aircooled, I will gladly take the heads of your hands, as they will need to be replaced! :D
