Shop visit Bakersfield, California

Post by Class 11 streeter »

Greetings! Long time no post on my part. The forum looks great, and you have gained like 5000+ members! Sorry for being away from posting for so long. I lurked a few times..........yeah, I know, WEAK!

Ok, to the topic. A good friend of mine, Eddie Brown, was owner of his own ACVW shop in Bakersfield until December of last year. Eddie was forced to shut down his shop and go to work for his former competetor, German Dreams. After telling myself I was going to share some pics all year I finally took the camera on my last visit.
German Dreams outside. Like the small sign damage I somehow cut off the large sign letters:

Shop inside with Eddie. It's larger than this pic shows, on the left out of sight is 3 bugs packed in neatly. Car on the lift is a 2005 A3. They do watercooled work too because there is plenty of work for a shop with watercooled VW's.

Shop owners daily driver Thing (Trekker?) with a 1911 (96mm X 66mm) type 4, also Eddie's daily driver Squareback.

Thing engine with Cali style shroud:

Customers cool little buggy:

Finally the jewel of the lot, customers beautifully restored 56 panel. 36 horse runs with the strength of a 40 horse!

Thats all for now!
I don't know it all, just enough to be dangerous!

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.
