Sounds nice! Speak to Bugger bout that tranny, he should be able to help you out and give you advise on what to use and what not to.
All I can say now is good luck, and will be watching this thread for updates
Sp?as in 1600sp beetle box?i heard that there no differance between them and normal 1600 boxes...might be wrong...i think fitting a type 4 in a bug,you need the right flyweel and stuff but impi or blitz should know ALOT more....
There is link to a build with a type 4 engine. I think there are a few things you have to do, but send IMPI a PM and ask him about the engine and PM Bugger about the gearbox.
The dash and the interior looks really cool - I think you should stick with the current colour and rack it and enjoy it. Mmmm...... I've got a nice rack handy - sure you dont want to leave your 68' at my place - indefinately

Springer you are a funny man so many people have asked me if I would like to sell and my answer is No i've just bought it
maybe one day it can leave it's mark in your drive way
The roof rack I am going to build one like this in December
It's not how fast you get there it's how you look when you arrive.
Buy a set of 96mm pistons from the states, get a nice cam,do some port and polish work on the ports, get some IDF webers and you'll have an awesome engine for your car, mild but awesome
I have a type 4 that neads some work but not bad thats why I was asking if it could fit in a beetle cause I don't know what to do with it

Black paint, chrome trim, grey interior with red edging, 1700 motor, slight drop with a roof rack, mmm... I'm sure whatever you decide will look great!
Ok my Wife is not a big beetle fan but after she saw Rui's 58 now she is coming right cause she can see the potential of my'n.
So after some serious consideration I will keep the so call original colour for now and concentrate on the mechanical and the interior first then I will move to the outside of the car.
except for the roof rack that will be done this year:hangloose:

Nice one - are you gonna make a jig for the rack ? I'll be tking the one off springer (my 68) for a make over as time hasn't done it too many favours. While its off if you would like to a make a jig from it then the offer is there !
