Help needed info on Kombi

Post by Dappermuis »

G'Day

I need some help gathering pieces of history about my Kombi, according to some Mplate decoder, it was destined for Holland.

I want to find out how the kombi came to SA and what the history was behind it, I have met a guy that is willing to help me with all the records as far as the licensing goes, and I know i bought it ftom a Guy wth a Beetle shop in Stormvoel road Pretoria and that at one stage of it's life it was painted red from the original green and used as a Cafe.

For some reason someone also closed down the low indicators and installed them higher up.

Any help will be much appreciated. Apparently the bus was for sale somewhere in Zambezi Drive at a stage, if anyone recalls at which dealer, or if you can give me any hint, I will try my best to follow it.

Cant see from the pick - is your Bus left hand drive or has it got double sliding doors. If it right hand drive with the slider that side then its a little different. If its a left hooker then you might start to get the idea that it was imported. In that case the musuem in Germany can send you birth certificate details.
Camping is cheaper than therapy.

"Wanna sell it" "Yeah, but there's a national shortage on 'for sale' signs."

Hi D

That pop-top looks like a Dormobile, very similar to mine. And I think it's a '71, made in late May 1970. Sorry, dunno any more about it. Maybe it was driven here from Holland?
