HW1's twin?

Post by Pine »

This buggy is currently for sale in Nylstroom (R23K) - I am 100% it is the same mould as what HW1 was. Note the angular lines on the bonnet, and the straight curve on the rear above the wheels. I have never seen another body as HW1 before this one, and was never able to identify it (no name, body tag etc.)

The owner who I bought HW1 from, built it new in 1971. There are many similarities to the Mk1 Meyers Manx, and the time frame is almost correct (a Manx was brought to SA in the 60's and there were many moulds made of it). I would really love to know which company made it, and what it was called?

Some early pics of HW1 - (the blue years)

Hi Pine,

I've finally managed to buy my first buggy. It looks exactly like the bakkie version in the above photo's. it is a kestrel bakkie and the body is in good nick. I will be getting a different chassis and transferring the body.

pics will follow soon in the right place

Cheers

Dave
